The manor, built at the end of the 19th century by Mr. Lacour, Colonel of the Dragons, represents one of among many beautiful bourgeois manors built during this period in the Touraine.

Mrs. Donnadieu, mother of Marguerite Duras made no mistake in purchasing The Chateau des Tertres in 1953 upon her return from Indochina. She lived the last years of her life here which were featured in the story "The Lover".

This residence, representative more of a large family home, is known for its meetings between friends and family reunions. Its ideal location for visiting the castles of the Loire Valley is one of the most appreciated addresses for tourists also wishing to take advantage of a peaceful haven.

This authentic and privileged place has maintained its magnificence thanks to its beautiful garden and 5 hectare park, lovingly cared for by Mr. Valois himself. Amidst the garden, one can try a selection of Loire Valley wines or enjoy a tea on the terrace overlooking the garden.
The surrounding park, planted with rare plants, is a sanctuary for deer that you might have the chance to see from time to time.

For the sport minded, there are bicycles available free of charge, plus local maps and route suggestions.
It's possible to ride over to the Annual Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire, 5 km away, for a visit, or take the side roads to the festival for a more scenic option and discover the wine appellation of "Touraine Mesland" along your way.
